Born Again American
Musical Challenge

Hey, did you ever sing in the
Choir with M J Stockton as your instructor?
He has challenged you to join him on Saturday afternoon (before the reunion) with your fellow Choir members and sing.  He is bringing the music and flying in from Kansas City.  We met
the number and we are having the singing reunion with your  friends as we did over 40 years ago.  Go to the email address gphs1968@yahoo.com to respond.  We have a list of volunteers
that has met the goal.  I know there are more of you out there who are "shower and car" singers.  Set yourself free...and join the fun with old friends.  You don't want to miss this, I am
positive this will be so much fun you will be so glad you did it.
Life is short...take the challenge!!!

It is Official

Johnny Roundtree has scheduled a reception for the
Class of 1968 & Friends
at the Lunchroom of Galena Park High School.  This Reception
will take place from 4 till 6,  prior to the 40th Reunion at the
Community Building.  There will be students to escort those who
would like a tour of the revamped GPHS Campus.  The decorating
theme of the school utilizes photos from the GPHS annuals.  That
shares the history of the campus with the Students attending
GPHS now. This reception is for all Classmates and Friends
attending either the 1968 Class Reunion or the Choir Reunion.

The members of the Choir reunion will meet there and adjourn to
the Choir Room for our Reunion.  We were invited to use the
facilities for our Choir reunion.  This is a newer facility, so we
will get to try out their acoustics.
Memories of MJ

MJ Stockton leads the GPHS choir to sing their hearts out.
Unfocused individuals, unsure of their voices, too naïve to
appreciate their dazzling director-the divine MJ-these
school kids came together for choir class: sometimes
morning, other years, afternoons.  These often unfocused
kids opened their mouths to sing the notes in the key and
to the tempo of this director (who could have easily been
called Job).  He was patient with the impatient: these kids,
chattering their way into choir class, taking their places on
the risers, their thoughts as varied as they, thinking more
of the previous moment rather, than the moment of the
music's miracle--about to begin.
